Purpose

Have you ever asked yourself a “what if” question? Such as, “What if this would have happened?” or “What if that would have never happened?”.

I think it’s safe to say that we humans like to think about the unknown. We like to predict and imagine how things work. It’s more than a psychological need, it’s a desire for everyone to know what can be known. Knowledge is the most powerful tool mankind is gifted with, other than time. We seek answer after answer, to fulfill our desire that brings the feeling of pleasure.

In order to first engage in these feelings, the basis of  a “purpose” is needed. Meaning that “purpose” resolves the “what if” questions. Not answering it directly, but setting a meaning and value behind all that exist. We can’t always answer these questions, some are unexplained. The same goes along for the “purpose” part, its unknown to us at times,  why somethings occur when they do. Apart from science and math, the phenomena of life can be very questioning. We are given things to us for a purpose, even if it may not occur to us what it’s meant for. The role that we as humans have is to fulfill what ever we desire, which connects back to our purpose.

Life is ultimately what you make of it, destined by the choices you make from it. Even though it may feel random and not work out like you visioned it, there is always a final outcome. There, is where the foundation of “purpose” lies.

Rather than ask “what if”, learn to ask “why not?”. Life will reward you, if you seek an answer from it.

Thanks for your input! I’m glad to always get comments like these. There are certain things that remain unknown. But one thing we all share is an idea of what we want our lives to be like, would you agree? In that case, this creates a cause and effect situation. Although, their is a driving force behind that idea, that allows us to have the desire and curiosity to finding out more. This is where the role of purpose can be placed, it’s more of an imagination that allows for us to speculate the cause and effect scenarios. Is a purpose something we know for sure? I don’t think so, but I can say that if we have the idea of it, than why can’t it not exist in some form. It may not occur in the same sense you thought is out to be, because of reality. But it has to still be present in order for us to have the cause and effect. So I’d like to ask you, do you think you have a purpose in life? If so, explain why.
