“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”. In the great words of Muhammad Ali, we are given his simplest answer to his success. Arguably on of the most dominate boxers of his era, Ali boxed like no other in the sport. His movements were flawless, as he wouldn’t lose focus on the target. The momentum he carried throughout his career enabled him to win a total of 56 fights, which 37 were by knockout and only lose a total of 5 fights.
Question is, how did the legendary man do it? People say it was a god given talent, that his physical attributes led him to become a champion. But beyond the physical side he obtained, Ali was one of the most mentally fierce competitors there was. From that start of his career, Ali made sure his mental preparation was intact with his physical preparation. He never let anyone get in his way because not only did he think in his mind that he was the greatest, he knew that he’d show his opponent his actions through his work, not by word of mouth. Day by day, the man practiced what he preached and was able to gain control of his situations. Despite his losses, he overcame them and continued on.
You see Ali never lost his momentum, even though he’d gone through tough battles, he would always stick to his routes of a champion’s mindset. In regards to his momentum, learn to prepare yourself as he did. Never lose sight of what your goals are and continue to practice for what you wish to accomplish. No matter what life throws at you, you have to be willing to accept it. And in the words of the legendary Muhammad Ali, remember to “float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee”.
